GAMSAT Section 3 practice questions in the modern style
The exam moved. Old-style practice papers test recall; the modern Section III hands you an unfamiliar experiment, graph or mechanism and tests whether you can reason from it — 75 questions, 150 minutes, 2 minutes each, double-weighted in your overall score.
Three sciences, one skill
Biology
Enzymes, transport, genetics, ecology — served as experiments to interpret, not lists to remember. Topic list
Chemistry
Equilibrium, acids and bases, dilution, kinetics — the arithmetic is simple; the setup is the test. Topic list
Physics
Waves, forces, energy — no calculator, so estimation is the skill. Formula sheet · Topics

The final concentration is…
Ninety seconds of work — if you set it up right. That setup-under-time is the whole section, and it is what the free test’s pace bar trains.
Section 3 practice, answered
How many questions are in GAMSAT Section 3, and how long is it?
75 multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes — exactly 2 minutes per question. It is double-weighted in the overall score, and sat in person on the same day as Section I, about three weeks after the remote Section II writing day.
Is Section 3 a science knowledge test?
Less than it used to be. The modern exam leans hard toward reasoning: most questions give you the data, graph or mechanism you need and test whether you can work with it under time. A grounding of roughly first-year-university biology and chemistry and senior-secondary physics is assumed, but recall alone answers very few questions.
Where can I get free GAMSAT Section 3 practice questions?
The free 12-question practice test on this site deals three Section III science sets daily — chemistry, biology and physics — at the real 2-minute pace, each with worked reasoning. ACER's official booklets remain the only official questions; do those first.
How do I practise the 2-minute pace?
Answer against a visible clock from day one. The free test shows a live pace bar against the real per-question budget, and the full timed mode in the free app tracks your pace on every question you attempt.
