About Aptavia
Aptavia is an independent, AI-powered preparation platform for the GAMSAT — the Graduate Medical School Admissions Test used by universities in Australia, the UK and Ireland. We help graduate-medicine applicants, from science and non-science backgrounds alike, prepare efficiently for an exam that rewards reasoning over memorisation.
How it works
Adaptive practice
Hundreds of GAMSAT-style questions — each AI-generated and then checked by a second AI examiner — served adaptively: fresh questions first, past mistakes resurfaced after a few days, and difficulty matched to your level.
AI essay marking
Section II essays are graded on a rubric built from ACER's two published criteria (thought and content; organisation and expression) by two independent AI models that cross-check each other, with specific, actionable feedback.
Scaled scoring & percentile
Raw performance is converted to the 40–100 GAMSAT scale with an indicative percentile estimate — ACER publishes no official percentile table, so ours is a calibrated in-house approximation — section by section and overall.
Lessons & study plan
In-depth lessons across all three sections plus a study plan that adapts to your test date and weak areas — built around reasoning, which is what the GAMSAT actually rewards.
Our approach
The GAMSAT doesn't test what you've memorised — it tests how you reason with unfamiliar material under time pressure. Everything we build reflects that: questions are modelled on authentic GAMSAT style and reviewed for quality before they reach you, essays are marked on a rubric built from ACER's two published criteria rather than a generic one, and your timing is benchmarked against the real exam clock. The goal is simple — honest feedback, efficient practice, and a clear picture of exactly what to fix next.
Accuracy & independence
Our scores are well-calibrated estimates designed to track the real GAMSAT scale — they are not official ACER scores. Aptavia is independent and is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by ACER. GAMSAT is a registered trademark of ACER. Always confirm fees, dates and program requirements on the official ACER GAMSAT website.
