This plan allocates the hours YOU entered across the weeks that actually exist between now and each test day. It says nothing about what you will score — that part is yours.
Dates marked as estimates are pattern estimates from previous cycles, not ACER announcements. We update the planner when ACER publishes its official booklet — always confirm on ACER's website before booking anything. See every key date (with calendar download)

No science background: start Section III content (chemistry, physics, biology foundations) in week 1 — it takes the longest to build, and it counts double in the overall.

Section II sitting week — light, sharp writing practice and rest.
Section II is sat this week (6–7 March 2027, estimated date), remotely under online proctoring. Keep practice light and sharp; check your ID, room and connection before the day.
Sharpen: full-length timed practice under exam conditions, reviewed hard.
Writing is done. From here every hour goes into Sections I & III — Section II work stops entirely.

How is this plan built?
The GAMSAT is sat in two parts, not one day: Section II (Written Communication) is sat remotely on its own day, about three weeks before Sections I & III are sat in person at test centres. Most printable study plans ignore this and train all three sections to one finish line. This planner doesn't: it splits your weekly hours across four phases — foundations → build → sharpen → taper — peaks Section II work into the writing day and stops it entirely afterwards, while Sections I & III work rises toward the in-person day with a light final-week taper.
How many hours a week do you need?
There's no official figure, and we won't invent one: it depends on how many weeks you have, whether you're coming from a science background, and where your practice already is. What matters more than the weekly number is consistency across enough weeks — a sustainable pace held for months beats a short cram. The planner accepts anywhere from 4 to 40 hours and splits what you genuinely have. What you're aiming at differs by program too — see what scores medical schools actually ask for.
When should you start for March 2027?
March 2027 dates are pattern estimates until ACER's next information booklet confirms them — testing has historically run late February–March, with registration opening in November and closing in late January. Working back from the test days, starting three to six months out leaves room for the full foundations-to-taper arc. Starting later still works — the plan just compresses toward timed practice, and under three weeks it becomes a triage sprint and says so plainly. Registration windows, results days and university deadlines all live on our GAMSAT dates page — with a calendar download, so the deadlines guard themselves.
